OK have released their new single Lego. It was recorded by Jordan Andrews at Ripe Fruit studios in Cardiff and mastered by Donal Whelan at Hafod. Lego is the first release from a growing pool of new songs, OK have been working on over the last year, and the first to feature Oli Miles on guitar and Dave Powell on Drums. OK singer and guitarist Joe Paine said,“It was obvious straight away that Lego would be the first single. We were really happy with the way it sounded and are looking forward to people finally hearing it.” You can buy the single from iTunes
We just wanted to post a quick message to say thank you to all of you who came to our first vinyl club on Sunday! We really enjoyed it and thought the atmosphere was perfect; with plenty of chatting, coffee and papers whilst listening to some brilliant music. (See the playlist post below)
The next PVC will be 12-3 on March 27th, see you there!
Pippa Rogers, an artist based in Cardiff, has played a couple of gigs with Pengwin Caerdydd in the past. We were lucky enough to offer Pippa a recording session in the Atrium last year and here is another track from that session
Pengwin Vinyl Club is designed to be relaxed, simple and enjoyable. The idea couldn’t be easier. Come to A Shot in the Dark, City Rd, Cardiff. Bring a copy of your favourite vinyl, Settle in (perhaps with a fresh coffee or orange juice and a Sunday paper!) and enjoy.
The idea is for people to bring their favourite/most recently purchased album along for us to play and share with everybody in the PVC. But please feel free to come along empty handed just to enjoy the joy of vinyl!
If we are lucky enough to have a broad collection of vinyl or too many to fit in the time-scale, we will give you a raffle ticket that will correspond to your album and randomly select the playing order.

Mercury prize nominated British Sea Power will be bringing their fourth studio album, Valhalla Dancehall to Clwb Ifor Bach on Monday 7th February along side local favourites Race Horses.
British Sea Power are back to business after an experimental/concept album written as an alternative soundtrack to the 1934 documentary film Man of Aran.
Valhalla Dancehall is a link straight back to the 2008 mercury prize nominated Do you like rock music?(which subsequently lost out to Elbow’s epic Seldom seen kid). The opening track Who’s in control sets the tone perfectly. The album is brilliantly energetic and peppered with rock gems. If their show is anywhere near as entertaining as their gig in The Globe last October then we’re in for a treat, see you in Clwb Ifor on the 7th.

Have a peek at the lengths some of our friends have been going to raise money for the disastrous floods that have blighted Pakistan over the last month.
With thousands of fatalities, over 21 million people injured or homeless and an estimated 28 billion pounds worth of damage. Pengwin Caerdydd gives a big hats off to Hamza Mush, Chris Tsao and Tom Owens for going above and beyond the call of duty.
